Please recc your toddler table and chairs set - looking for something sturdy...
Don't want to spend a ton but, I guess I will if I have to I'm seeing a range from little tykes plastic ones to the PBK wooden ones.
How are the plastic ones? Are they really unsturdy and unsafe? Is it worth it to get the wood or heavier ones and if so can you recc yours?
TIA! DS is going to be 2 and I want to get it for his bday.

we got the kidkraft nantucket table and chairs set. Its very sturdy and cute. We got the pastel set for DD but it also comes in primary colors. $130 at walmart.com for free site to store shipping. My frends DD had this set from age 2 to age 7 and she still fits on the chair fine and its in good shape!

My kids have the table and chairs from PB and I think they are very well made and worth the cost. I sit in one of the little chairs every night reading their bedtime stories and it has held up well under the weight of my butt Crayon and marker have wiped off it really easily too!

Thanks - this is one of the sets we are considering but, it looks a little big - what age did your DC start using it? My DS is turning 2 in a few weeks do you think it is too big for him now? TIA!

Re: Please recc your toddler table and chairs set - looking for something sturdy...
We have the set from Ikea. It's sturdy and perfect for DS (he's on the big side). We also gave it to him for his 2nd birthday. We bought it and had it decorated amazingly by Val (do me a favor), I highly recommend her.
Here it is:
There's a glare because DH ran to Home Depot and picked up a piece of plexiglass, which he cut and glued to the top of the table to preserve it and make for VERY easy cleaning....I also highly recommend doing this:
We got to pick out the specific characters she used and told her where to put them:
As you can see....he LOVED it:
and couldn't wait to sit right down:
edit to fix a pic and to add: we also have a plastic clifford the big red dog set for the backyard. IMO there is no comparison. The plastic is perfect for outside but very light weight so DS can easily move it around or knock it over. The wood is perfect for inside and it is STURDY. It's not too heavy that he can't move the chair himself, but heavy enough that he can't easily knock over the table. Good luck and Happy Birthday =)
Oh and the set from Ikea was only like $40

My cousin got one for her DD. It's plain white, 2 chairs. She told me it was from IKEA.. It's adorable! Her DD and my DS sat at it last night playing games and eating snack.

We got one from ikea for Joey. He is only 15 months so he has only used it a few times, but so far it seems to be holding up pretty well.

Re: Please recc your toddler table and chairs set - looking for something sturdy...
I was ready to buy a more expensive small table and chairs last year from BBB but a few friends had this table and chairs from IKEA.
This is the table: http://www.ikea.com/us/en/catalog/products/40153859
These are the chairs: http://www.ikea.com/us/en/catalog/products/40153699
I know several people who have them - my friends say it held up better than their expensive sets. I normally am not an IKEA fan but I will tell you the set was very sturdy Kaitlyn uses it all the time and when she was smaller she would climb onto the table and sit on it. It has taken quite a beating.
