You can try something like Bio Oil, but in my experience, if you are prone, you will get them. I use a lot of cream and it did nothing.

Re: Please recommend a belly cream....
I also use the Palmer's because like the PP have said, it has more to do with genetics than what cream you use. Knock on wood, I am at 30 weeks and haven't developed any yet. A friend of mine swore by Mamma Mio stretch mark cream and said she only got 1 or 2 stretch marks.

I actually just read the same thing, that the creams really just help with the itching. I'm still slapping that stuff on anyway!! My SIL bought me Mama Mio for Christmas, it smells so good! I looked it up online and its $$$ so I'll probably switch to something else once it runs out!

Re: Please recommend a belly cream....
I've also heard it's genetics and the rate of weight gain, but I've been using the Mama Mio belly oil since the end of the first trimester and I don't have any stretch marks (my due date is Friday). I would say maybe it's just good genes but I've had stretch marks on my belly before from weight gain and loss so I'm not so sure. Also, it is great for dealing with the itching - I ran out and was using baby oil and heavy duty shea butter creams for a couple of days - OMG, the itching became insufferable - within a couple of days of getting more belly oil, the itching just about vanished - not entirely as I still have a small amount of tolerable itching, but WOW, what a difference compared to before.

The bottle of belly oil I have from them lasted almost 6 months so you may be able to get through with it or else just need one more. I'm a huge fan of this stuff.

I use berts bee's belly balm and belly oil. But stretch marks are complete genetics!! But they do fade if you do get them.

Re: Please recommend a belly cream....
I've been using queen helen's cocoa butter and so far no stretch marks (I'm 6 mths though). I put it on every morning- on my butt, thighs, hips, belly and boobs.

Re: Please recommend a belly cream....
I used Palmer's the first time around, mostly because I didn't want to itch from stretching skin. Got no stretch marks, so I will use it again this time around.
