Please recommend a sunblock!
I wanted to buy sunblock for DS yesterday (9 mos. old) and got so overwhelmed by the choices.....spray, lotion, wipes, brand, SPF level.... He's very fair and has sensitive skin. I'm interested in hearing your recommendations.
Thanks!

Re: Please recommend a sunblock!
Sorry to piggyback on your thread - but I'd like to know too - I will be taking Cailen to a folk festival for a whole week in July when he is 3 months old, and will need a super duper sunblock as well - so suggestions for really young'uns as well would be greatly appreciated!!!

Re: Please recommend a sunblock!
Steven is VERY fair and I am using Coppertone Baby, SPF 50. Lotion.
That is what my mom always used, so I just went with that.
ETS: I'm nervous with the spray. What if he moves real quickly and it gets in his eyes or something?

Re: Please recommend a sunblock!
My own dermatologist had recommended that I use Coppertone Spectra (it deflects, scatters and absorbs the rays, supposedly). I love it - has no scent hypo-allergenic, rated spf 50. I have used it on my babies and I've also used Coppertone Waterbabies - spf 30.
I know California Baby has a line of suncare too. I haven't used it but I love their other products.

I have the spray - I just shake, spray in my hands and rub on - which totally defeats the purpose

LipglossJunky - Check with your doc if he is under 3 months. The doc might not want you to use anything (I know, crazy, right?)
My doctor recommends Blue Lizard (You can get it at CVS). They have Baby formula and Sensitive Formula. My local CVS only had sensitive so that is what I use

I use the sport sunblock sprays on myself, and to tell you the truth, I put it on the same way - I feel I may not spray evenly otherwise!

Re: Please recommend a sunblock!
We use waterbabies or Baby Blanket sunblock-BRU has it.
LIZa-Our PED said just to rub the suncreen on your hands first then only do babies legs and arms, cover head with hat, and try to stay in the shade. Same process with bug spray. Our PED feels the benefits outweigh the risks no matter what the age. But def check with what yours says. DD was born in May of last year, she was wearing block and bug spray the whole summer.

Re: Please recommend a sunblock!
I'm pretty sure at 3 months you can't use anything on the face cause it may cause an eye infection. Maybe arms and legs, but I was told no.
