please recommend good inexpensive restaurant near penn
I'm meeting my cousin for dinner tomorrow night. She's staying at 40th and 5th ave, and I'm coming into Penn. So I'm looking to go somewhere not far from either. Any recommendations? TIA!

there is Salute on 39th and madison, but i think it's somewhat overpriced
Becco on 46th is amazing! all you can eat pasta
some places further west close to Penn are Puttanesca and Maria Pia, also Pietrasanta
my vote is for Becco though.

my vote is for Becco though.
Oh I love Becco! But I should have been more specific. The other cousin and others who are going with me don't need a pizzeria, but maybe priced lower than Becco would be.

they have a website, you may wann down check the street... maybe its 36th?

What about Southern / BBQ food ?
Brother Jimmys is right next to Penn.
I love their food and their drinks are delish!
More of a bar feel than a restaurant.
But if you are looking for low key, fun, not too pricey a good option.

I'm not stuck on Italian. Butterfield and Brother Jimmy's both seem like great choices

I let my cousin choose and she chose Brother Jimmy's. It should be fun. I do think it's hilarious that she came all the way from Virginia to go to a southern bbq restaurant
