DH and I really love the Animal Kingdom Lodge. We've stayed there twice, once in a room overlooking the Savannah, and once in a standard room. I'd recommend either. It's a gorgeous hotel and the restaurants are great.

The Caribbean resort is super reasonable and very nice. We stayed at the Wilderness Lodge for our honeymoon and weren't impressed. (The wilderness lodge is not the campground, it's a "deluxe" resort."
Definitely get the meal plan. You will save hundreds of dollars.

We stood at the Caribbean also on Disney grounds and was great.
But you can also check out the Sheraton Safari Hotel. We had a suite near pool and it was beautiful

We stayed at Pop Century. It is one of the lowest priced hotels in Disney. The kids loved it and want to go back there again. I personally would rather spend the money on other things then a room that I am just there to sleep and shower.

For value... pop century. For moderate... Port Orleans French Quarter or Caribbean Beach For deluxe... wilderness lodge or any monorail resort!

Re: Please recommend hotel for Disney
I've stayed at most of them. I liked:
The Dolphin (more upscale, less family oriented. I think its not totally Disney operated. Michael Jackson was there when I was there LOL)
All Star (tons of family and kids, cheap price)
Caribbean Beach resort (wasn't thrilled because our block of rooms was a major hike from the restaurant and cool pool but if I had been closer, it would have been fine)
Fort Wilderness (campground-cheap and clean)
I always wanted to stay at the Grand Floridian or the Polynesian

Re: Please recommend hotel for Disney
You can stay on-property and still feel secluded from the hustle and bustle of the theme parks. The question of where is in great part determined by your family size and budget. Many Disney resorts hold a maximum of 4 guests (5 if one is under 3 and sleeps in a pack & play / crib), so if your family size is larger than this, you choices are narrowed down for you. When considering budget, Disney has 4 main categories that each of thier properties falls under - value, moderate, deluxe, and deluxe villa. As you move from value to deluxe, you experience a greater levels of room and resort amenities, along with price. The deluxe villas offer the most flexibility for larger families, offering studio. 1-, 2-, and 3-bedroom villas.
You also have non-Disney alternatives, both on and off property. There are several hotels in the Downtown Disney district that offer the convenience of being close to the action and the amenities you might be used to from names such as Best Western, Hilton, and Doubletree Guest Suites.
Furthermore, there are many off-site locations such as the Buena Vista Suites, Gaylord Palms Resort & Spa, and the hotels of Marriott Village.
Each choice has thier own pros and cons, and the final choice often comes down to personal choice.
This is definitely one area that a Disney travel agent can help you with. There is usually never an extra fee for speaking with one, and the experience they have will make the whole process a lot more stress-free.
Good Luck!

We stayed at the Wilderness Lodge too. I really liked it but I would not think it was a Honeymoon type of place. It was good for our family when DS was 1.
For a family with young children that want a nicer place I have heard that that the Animal Kingdom resort is great.
I have always wanted to stay at the Beach Club but when we looked it was over 300 per night.
