Please recommend the place you bought your pool from and some pool Qs
Where did you buy your pool? Any recommendations?
I am looking for above the ground/semi-inground.
What price range am I looking at? What are pointers I should know about (pump quality, etc...)
At least 18' wide for a round. Or 12-15 x 24-30 oval.
TIA

Our pool came with the house, but I just wanted to say, please don't use Island Rec. I've heard bad things about them. Maybe try Leslie Pools. Good luck!

I am thinking to get it next year too. Like late winter/early Spring. I am "hoping" it would be cheaper.

Re: Please recommend the place you bought your pool from and some pool Qs
I went to a number of places and they honestly all run the same.
In the end, I went to Backyard Masters where I bought an above ground pool that is built to go semi-inground too (this is true of Doughboy and Esther Williams pools).
I then hired a pool installer - Michael's Pride. So far so good. (http://www.michaelspride.com/index.htm)
I think the cost is about the same as Island Rec all in all ($6K for pool and $3K for install, excavating, etc)
I also learned that Brookhaven town only acknowledges 2 types of pools -- above or inground. Anything more than 18" in the ground is considered an inground pool (means permits, taxes, etc). For the "above ground" pool you also need to be 15 ft from your property line all around the pool. I hope this helps you im making your decision. Good luck!

Our house came with the pool but our neighbor bought one and had it installed by Island Rec. It has been a disaster. FM me if you are considering using them and want details.
