Taiko in Rockville Centre. I've heard good things about Sushi Ya too as someone mentioned.
Also, the Sushiya in Garden City is very good (I don't believe there's any connection to the other SushiYa in RVC).
There's also a great place in Long Beach but I can't think of the name.

i second harusaki in rockville centre. also nakahama and yummy yummy, both in long beach. there's also a good place on willis avenue in williston park.

Its not in Nassau but I have to tell you about it in case you are in Manhattan:
SUSHI SAMBA NYC Amazing Japanese/Peruvian Fusion
Once you have had it, it is difficult to match the quality and yumminess. They also have kick-butt mixed drinks!

I was thinking of there too...until I saw Nassau. HOw about Minando in Carle Place, not sure if its still there though. I haven't been there in a while.
