Please recommend your running watch!
What functions does it have, and what functions do you think are really essential?
What is the approximate cost?
Thanks!

Re: Please recommend your running watch!
I have the Garmin Forerunner 305. Erica who posts on this board recommended I get one I think she has the newer one the 405 but I got the cheaper one (LOL). This watch is great it has so many features. Right now I have mine set to show me distance, time, pace, calories at the same time but you can set it to soo many different settings! It looks big but it is soo light I forget I have it on. I paid $150 for mine and it is well worth it!

Thanks! I was looking at the forerunner 205 but the 305 is not much more money. It's just a lot to spend on a watch. I'll probably end up buying it, just not right away.

Re: Please recommend your running watch!
I do have the 405. I bought it with a 20% coupon from super runner shop, so it turned out to be an OK deal. (I think i got the coupon from the Huntington T-giving Day Run - for Cow Harbor they give out $20 off on $100)
it's really made more for a man, so the fit is not great, but like rosemarie says - you don't notice it.
once I get started the circle pad is easy to use, but I do sometimes get frustrated before a run trying to program it and getting satelites.
I use it to set my pace and I have a little man on my watch that tells if I'm ahead or behind him (which was nice when I was ahead of my marathon goal, but not when I was behind it! LOL). I can go back and forth to time and distance. I also love to check off mile markers for long races and look back to see what my pace was at different parts of the race.
I would like to start using the heart rate monitor ore for training to stay in different heartrate zones, but it's a lot of work.
While it's a bit more accurate than my nike+ for longer races, Nike+ is pretty accurate for 5Ks and it is more sensitive to change in pace. So i still run with both.
