Please recommend your swing
Also, if you have a swing, do you think it's also worth it to get a bouncer? I was looking at the Soothing Motions Glider thing - but wonder if it's worth it. TIA

Re: Please recommend your swing
We have the papasan Swing. Since DS used it as he place of sleep..it was WELL worth its weight in gold.
We also had TWO bouncers. IMO buy or register for as much as your house can hold...It gets real hard to entertain a 3 month old for more then 5 minutes at a time

Re: Please recommend your swing
We have the Rainforest swing and bouncy chair.... and am so glad to have both.
I would say that for the first several weeks, the bouncy chair saved my life! It gave me freedom to have my hands for a little while and still take DS with me from room to room. I would, as many other moms, put him in the bouncy seat to take a shower.
As for the swing, he really didn't like it for the longest time. Now that he is almost 4 months, he is enjoying the swing more and he takes naps in it a lot. I appreciate having both!

Anyone have the FP Swing N' Glider? Does it really work as both a swing and glider?

Re: Please recommend your swing
I have the Graco Lovin Hug swing in Cherry blossom. DD loves it but the bouncer has been a life saver. If I had to choose it would be the bouncer. I have a Fisher Price pink one...can't remember the name.

Re: Please recommend your swing
i have the rocker bouncy chair, he likes it though now that we have the fp rainforest swing, we use that more. he has to be in the mood to be in the swing - lately he likes to look at EVERYTHING so when i can't hold him, i put the rocker in a new room/area for him to watch a new scene.

Re: Please recommend your swing
We have the Graco Devon swing. He didn't always like it in the beginning, but now it's all he'll take a nap in. I do wish we got a swing that had a toy bar on it. It has a mobile, but it's only one color and it doesn't stay on too well. When we were visiting my parents, they borrowed a swing that had a toy bar and he woke up from his naps and started playing!!!
For me, the bouncer has been a life saver!!!!!! it's portable, so we can take it to other houses. Also, it's the only thing I've been able to put him in to take into the bathroom, so I can shower! priceless!!!

Re: Please recommend your swing
IMO, if you are going to register for a swing, register for one that rocks side by side and not just back and forth. DS HATED the back and forth motion, but when we got the Aquarium swing that rocked side to side, he loved that.
We had the playful puppy bouncer. I just retired it earlier this month (at 8 months) because he could sit all the way up in it.
We ALSO have the FP infant to toddler rocker, which I really like as well.

We have a Graco 3 in 1. The bouncy seat comes off so you don't need to buy more stuff and clutter up your house. DD loves it.

Re: Please recommend your swing
we had a cradle swing and the infant to toddler rocker....they both were lifesavers. I recommend getting the rocker over the regular bouncer, because you will get longer use out of it.

This was so worth it!! We use it every day from the day he came home. Worth every penny. I really think the cradle motion swings are the most comforting. He can nap in there for a couple of hours.

Re: Please recommend your swing
we have the papasan - the new one that projects lights. When they are only few weeks old, all they can make out is light, so she liked sitting in it looking at lights. Though, for some reason, she hates to be rocked. She is 5 weeks old now, and still doesn't liked the swinging motion but will look at lights and mobile.
She does however, like the bouncer. She'll sit in it and look at the lights and enjoy vibration.
Often I hear baby liking one vs the other (like mine that prefers bouncer) so I say go for both. That is why I did - even though I am in a small apt.

Re: Please recommend your swing
If you're going to get a swing- look into getting one that has the electric AND battery operated options. The FP Rainforest has them, as well as the Starlight Papason.
We have the regular FP Papason and she LOVES it- but I wish we'd gotten the model that has the electric attachment......
ETA: My DD never liked the bouncer- it was a huge waste for us.....

Re: Please recommend your swing
We have the pappasan.....It was our saving grace, we are about to put it away, she hasn't used it in awhile. We also have the soothing seat, not a bouncer. She still sits in it.
