Please show me your DIY smash cake pics!
I am planning on setting up a studio in my home for the first time to take pics....DH surprised me with the D90 today and I want to try it out....DS is turning 1 Friday.
So,,,,,,anyone take there own semi-profeesional pics?? Looking for ideas! TIA

My Dad & I took these (some are mine...some are his shots) at my house with a paper backdrop! Lighting is not good at all....but he had fun & the smile was there!!!
The 1st 2 I definately used for his 1st Birthday invites!! And 1 more but I can't remember which!

I ordered mine on line...cannot for the life of me remember the site....but i googled something like background photography paper....got it for like $50 WITH shipping included!! It's HUGE! 12 feet wide!!

I got mine off a vendor on Amazon.com. I ordered 3 different colors. Mine aren't that big (I think they are probably 5 feet across), but they serve their purpose and then I just do some picture cropping / editing.
Also, a tip I learned from someone on here (sorry I don't remember who - maybe MrsP747 ?) but you can just use the blue Painters tape and tape up a large cut sheet of the background paper to your wall. Eliminated the need to purchase a stand for the backdrops. Eventually I may get one, but for now the tape works great!!! Good luck!!!

No stand here either! We are lucky to have a 1/2 wall between LR & kitchen....I just hung it over!

Mine are ghetto DIY as I don't even have backdrops. I just set them in front of a nicer piece of furniture(our hutch)
(if you look closely you may see some dust bunnies under there )
This isn't the best pic but I have more on FB if you FM me I will give you my name to look-ETA-I also had to make the cake myself since my son has dairy allergies so thats ghetto as well

Mine are ghetto too I did an impromptu cake smash when seehere.com was giving away the free photo cards. I saw the post on here, ran downstairs made a cake and then took the pictures the next day ...I probably should have gone out and bought some food coloring since all I had on hand was blue and green We had a ton of fun and I just love looking at these pictures
