Please tell me about Syosset
We know nothing about it other than a couple of people telling us they hear it's a nice town.
We have driven just off the LIE and drove around a little but didn't get any type of feeling about it one way or the other.
Is there a better part to focus on? Do parts have a cute little town feel? Probably not right since it's so huge. How is the train line? I know nothing so any info would be helpful.

I am pretty sure it's one of the most expensive towns to live in Nassau County.
Taxes/cost of house wise.

It is a nice town! For us it came down to POB and Syosset when we were looking. Felt like we looked all over Nassau county and those were the 2 places we decided on. Check the train schedule to see what your commute would be like

I grew up in syosset and can say that it's a great place to live. The schools are fantastic. There are some more expensive neighborhoods but there are no bad areas.
My parents still live there so I am there all the time.

I grew up there as well, and I agree that it is a wonderful place to raise a family.
Such a safe place, too.
If I could afford to live there, I would in a heartbeat!
I will say that my Mom always hated that it had a "keeping up with the Joneses" vibe, but I actually think that it is common to all areas of Long Island

I agree there definitely is "keeping up with the Joneses" but the more I hear I really think that happens everywhere.
It is really expensive but if you can afford it I think it really is a great town to raise children and live.

Please tell me about Syosset
We almost moved there....GREAT place to raise a family and lovely, well kept homes. In the end, we opted for an area with a "smaller town feel" and easier commute but I liked what I saw in Syosset.
