Please tell me my kid isn't the only one who does this!
Two nights ago, we were eating dinner, and I think Thomas had a tiny piece of bread stuck in the back of his mouth. He stuck his hand as far back into his mouth as he could to try and get it out. Then he continued to do it 2 or 3 more times after the bread was gone gagging himself. It was like he learned a new trick and was gaggin himself just because he could. This was disturbing!! 
Then this morning, he stuck his hand in his mouth again to touch a Cheerio that was all the way in the back of his mouth!! 
Is this something normal that he's just doing because he is experimenting - like cause and effect - if I stick my fingers down my throat, I'll gag... or is it something to worry about?

My SIL and I were talking about this just the other day. My nephew is 21 months and has been doing this. My DS was 2 in May and was also doing this a few months ago. Her pediatrician told her it is either a new sensation that they found by accident and are trying out or it's an attention getter. Both make sense to me although neither of my other kids did this so I found it strange too. Apparently it's normal so your DS is fine.

nope--my son learned it real early and still does it...actually both does but Max is real bad--and when he did it he would make himself vomit. Its a great trick isn't it?
He learned..if I put him to bed to early--throwing up means i get him too!

Another phase to love, huh? DS has done this. He thinks it is hysterical Then he moves on to something else.

My son does this all the time, not to touch food, but to gag himself. It gets really crazy....I have NO idea why he does this, but he started it months ago....it gets better, then he starts up with it again. The other day he made himself throw up from it
