LOVE being a Mommy!

Please tell me someone else has this problem

All of a sudden the last couple of days when DD gets upset
she arches her back and throws herself to the floor. Smacking the back of her head on the floor, or crib wherever she is

She has never done this before, and I don't know how to make her stop.

I am so afraid she is going to crack her head open Chat Icon Chat Icon

Please someone give me some type of advice, cause I am losing my mind Chat Icon

Yup and my dd is 4 months and does it while in my arms, in the carseat, in the swing...etc!

No advice here, sorry.... since my dd is quite young and im not sure how to control that. I hope it dosent get worse.

Yup totally agree.

Joseph used to throw himself on the floor & lower his head slowly as he thrashed around. (They learn that after a few times of bumping their heads).

DH used to joke that he's surprised he doesn't throw a pillow down for himself during full-on tantrums.

Yes. They do. That's when they figure out not to do it or to do it better.

When she throws herself on the floor, say calmly "You're going to hurt yourself!" as a reminder.

Hi Marcie....

It must be a normal phase unfortunately, it seems like all of the kids are about the same age and have started the same.....

Alyssa is doing it too.....and inadditon to what you described, Aly has also starting hitting her own face!!Chat Icon Chat Icon

I am at my witts end the last week or so too....I dont have alot of advice., other than - -

when Alyssa starts in like this I go and pick her up and just hold her tight up against me so she cant thrash around too much, Usually within a min or so she calms down. Im like you, afraid she is going to crack her head open. Its so frustraing.

They become so much fun at this age.....but also start all of these un fun things! UGH.
