Re: Please watch the movie Food Inc!

i've read several books about the horrors of the food industry...they turned me vegan which i've been for a year now! DH wants to watch this movie and i've actually been trying to keep him from it b/c when i started telling him some of the things i've read about where his milk or his steak are coming from, he gets upset and doesn't want to know. i don't think he really understands what this movie is about. maybe i should just let him watch it so i can stop cooking 2 separate meals ever night and bring him over to the veg side!

i feel you completely. i read skinny ***** almost 2 yrs ago and havent TOUCHED meat since. they promote veganism but its too extreme for me. i still eat fish.

but be very careful with trying to influence others esp dh. mine is EXACTLY the same as yours, and doesn't want to hear it either. so are my folks. they think its all bull$hit pardon the pun, and a vast environmentalist/liberal conspiracy against the meat industry!! lord help me! i got my mom to watch part of the movie and she said my dad came in and said 'its bull$hit." so she hasn't watched more. People are very protective of their habits, even though they know its bad for them and they don't want to know about cruelty to animals, or contamination/outbreaks, preservatives etc...and they get very mad when you try to shed some light on the subject. I respect dh's decision to continue to eat meat; but he does eat less since I stopped. I was a huge meat lover but now it turns me off. GL!Chat Icon

Re: Please watch the movie Food Inc!

i haven't watched food inc yet but i will. i have seen the future of food and that makes me not want to eat veggies. if we start dissecting everything we eat then we'll never eat anything.
