Plus Size Ladies

Where are you planning on getting your outfit for your baby shower. I would like to be able to go to a store and try it on first. I am looking for a dress to wear to my shower.

Re: Plus Size Ladies

I wore slacks and a nice blouse. I know a dress looks pretty, but honestly, with having to juggle big boxes and stuff, a dress might show more than you'd like, and you may be uncomfortable because of it.

ETA: I got it either at Motherhood or JCPenney.com (don't remember since it was 3 years ago).

Motherhood at the source had a cute black and white dress with a tie back when I was there last.

JC Penny's has some cute stuff now and again - I got a cute dress from there with my last pregnancy.

Lane Bryant (the store not the catalog but you can only buy maternity on their website not in the store) has some nice black pants and you can look there, JC Penny's and Motherhood for a cute dressy top if you want to dress up.

Re: Plus Size Ladies

I'll probably go with black pants, cute flats and a cute top from Motherhood...haven't started to look yet but I think at that point, I'll be more comfortable in pants.

Damn! Thanks Jess!

I would like to wear a dress, but I was never a dress person before being PG

If I don't find a dress I like, I'll prob wear black pants w/a pretty top, or maybe even a skirt

I know JCPenny online, Lane bryant online, motherhood maternity have plus size sections....I wish we had more choices

Old navy has plus size and maternity, but not plus size maternity...w-t-f

i am SO not a dress person either - but it's a wedding...so i figure i should TRY to look nice.

They are also running the promo of spend 150, get 75 off, spend 75, get 25 off, etc...

I have a feeling maybe the CATALOG is going out of business....but who knows..

Old Navy does have some maternity stuff in XXL which I might consider trying. So far I've been able to fit into their XL maternity clothes. I think their sizes run a bit bigger than most stores.

Re: Plus Size Ladies

I really didn't like many Old Navy Maternity Tees because they have these ruffles on their sleeves..Chat Icon I'm not a frilly girl, and ruffles.. Ugghhhh Chat Icon So I just bought regular tees in XXL, and they fit great! Chat Icon Also, Lane Bryant, has a few cute things.. I'm not into all those designed, flowery, geometric tops.. I'm a regular jeans and t-shirt gal..Chat Icon

Re: Plus Size Ladies

Believe it or not, I found a great dress at Lane Bryant. I just ordered a size larger than I would normally wear. It was comfortable, pretty, and it showed off my baby bump perfectly! Chat Icon

Re: Plus Size Ladies

My shower will be a surprise so no planned outfit for me. Considering the warm weather, I'll most likely be in a flowy skirt, tee shirt and flip flops. My favorite party location is a garden party in my mom's gorgeous backyard so I'm sure I'll be dressed appropriately for sitting by the pool!

Re: Plus Size Ladies

OK I knwo you want to try it on first BUT consider going to lanebryant.com and ordering this really pretty maternity dress they have, with a coupon from retailmenot.com it is only 8 dollars!

I bought it and it is very nice.

http://www.lanebryant.com/pagebuilder/lane_bryant_product_page?pagesize=3&my_nav=sale&cat=maternity&subcat=&item=0131383&s19b=Maternity%20|%20Sale&s19c=8

it is 12.99 without the coupon and really it is a nice dress that even if it isnt perfect you can spend some money to alter it a bit and still have a relatively cheap dress.
