Poeple who have a kid already and unsolicitated advice!
If one more person who thinks they are doing me a favor does this, I am going to scream! DH and I were planning on going away for a long weekend, ( due to the fact of the moron of a doctor I had and got me all upset for nothing while I was away 2 weeks ago. and never got to relax). Anyway, I was asking a few of my friends which would be better - Hershey, Philadelphia, etc. If one more says u will enjoy hershey when you have a kid, etc etc. I am going to flip. They know we are trying to have a baby- it is so hurtful to be told this, like they are part of some elite group or something! It is so annoying and fustrating to be told " when you have a kid go here and there- but you do not have one yet- so go to place X" Maybe they mean well, but I am not too happy when someone tells me this.

I am sure they don't mean it in a bad way. It's just that sometimes they mean, once you have kids, there are places better suited and geared towards them but when you don't have kids yet, you may enjoy another place.
I know it is frustrating.
Just like "do you guys have started on the baby thing yet"?

I once had a patient look at my stomach and say, " You do not look pregnant yet!" THE NERVE! Now I just avoid her.

Aww, I think your having baby brain. I know I find offense in things that are not meant to be offensive just because I always am thinking about babies and such, but remember no one else is thinking about it but you , so dont expect them to remember or be careful of your feelings. FEW will do that.
i can see why it would hurt, but I wouldnt let it get too you, I dont think they meant anything bad or hurtful by it.

OK- you are totally reading too much into this. If you asked them for an opinion as to which would be more fun (which, from what you posted, I think you did), then they were doing what you asked- gave their opinion.
Have you ever BEEN to Hershey Park? NOT fun unless you ARE a kid, or HAVE kids. The place is totally kid oriented. Try not to be so sensitive- realize that people around you may not know that the talk ofyou not having kids is a touchy subject. And it sounds like they did you a favor by attempting to guide you to another destination- do you really want to be surrounded by droves of other people kids?

I agree! I say that to my friends all the time when they go to Disney and such. Those places are so much more fun when you have kids to share it with! Don't let it get to you!

Re: Poeple who have a kid already and unsolicitated advice!
Thanks for the responses, but I just went thru a horrible situation which I had posted on here a few weeks back and I was looking to lose myself on a get away that would cheer me up. Maybe I am being sensitive, but myself included as well as the rest of us want to have a baby- and sometimes it hurts more then other times while TTC.

I have come to the conclusion that many people nowadays do not think before they speak, and end up hurtinng feelings, making people angry and looking ridiculous.
I hope you fell better soon, just ignore the comments, go to Hershey and don't let others bring you down.
P.S. I went to Hershey with DH, another couple and a couple with 3 kids, and the 2 couples w/o kids had a better time!!!!! It was great!!!!

I have to completely disagree, I went this summer and the park is totally geared toward adults....
