Pokemon Cards
I hear these are big with the first and second graders. My nephew had some, brought them to school, let another kid borrow one and he never got it back. Now my son is asking for the cards and I do not want to buy them. I know he will bring them to school. It will be another morning drama thing to deal with?
Do I make sense in not buying them?

No, lol. Just don't let him bring them to school
Actually, they aren't allowed in my son's school anymore

They are allowed in our school during recess, and the kids play the card game and trade them usually. My second grade DS has come home saying he got gifted a card from a friend or he gave a friend one of his cards. I don't really care what they do with them, so long as they aren't getting taken advantage of or in trouble. These cards are valuable like elementary school currency, and I want my DS to fit in with the other boys.

Re: Pokemon Cards
I will start giving him them. One mother at a cub scout meeting says she only lets her son take one to school .... My son told me they only take them out at lunch.

Re: Pokemon Cards
My two girls in 1st and 3rd also collect these cards and bring them to school. They talk about trading and gifting. I could care less

Re: Pokemon Cards
DS has a bunch in a binder. He is only allowed to take doubles to school to trade. They are only allowed to play with them in after school.
