POLL: Bassinet, Cradle or Moses Basket (on a stand)?
I'm pretty certain I don't want a pack and play, at least not for the purposes of the early weeks / months. I just saw the Moses basket stand on Fortunoff's website and thought it was a pretty good idea.
What are you all doing?

Re: POLL: Bassinet, Cradle or Moses Basket (on a stand)?
We're borrowing a bassinet, but I am thinking about getting both a pack and play and a moses basket. The pack and play for the livingroom and moses basket for going over to other people's houses.

I think it depends on the configuration of your house and on your situation. I am having a C-section and I had to consider the fact that my own movement will be limited. Our house is sort of on 3 different levels, so there are stairs everywhere. Baby will have a bassinet in our bedroom and we also want something for the living room/den area. I did not get a cradle because the bassinet that we got adjusts to be very high. It's safer as far as the dog getting to the baby and it will be easier for me to put the baby down. Then, I will need something for the living room area so that I am not stuck in the bedroom with baby all day. I guess I will do a pack n play for that. I want to have a moses basket but because I will need all that other stuff, I won't be getting any sort of stand for it.

I have a bassinet from my Son that I love so I'll keep that in our room for a while.

I am getting a moses basket and stand. Just easier to 'cart' around the baby in the apartment and to mom's & MIL's
Got mine embroidered from cnsbaby.com and the frame from ababy.com ($40, delviery next day!)
ETA: I got a PNP for when the baby is older and goes to grandmas!

Re: POLL: Bassinet, Cradle or Moses Basket (on a stand)?
I had a c-section and had a bassinet in our bedroom. I was hesitant at first but after the c-section and BF, I am glad I did.
I also have a PNP in our LV so DS can be with us. We have 2 small dogs and hate to have to monitor them every second.

Will be using a PNP for DS...
I have used "all of the above" for previous children and I have to say they all work very well. It really just has to do with your personal preference... baby will also spend a ton of time sleeping...in the car seat, in the bouncy seat, in the swing, on the floor, on daddy, etc....

Straight to the crib for DD. We did this for DS and had no issues with sleeping what so ever.

Re: POLL: Bassinet, Cradle or Moses Basket (on a stand)?
I had a pack n play for Juliette and I hated it bc I felt like even though she was under 8 pounds, I was always afraid the basinett part would fall through. I had received a moses basket, but she didn't like it very much. She was in the crib by the end of the first full week... I was able to get a cradle this time thanks to an LIF'er. I'll see how he sleeps in their but I will still try to get him in to the crib asap.
