Poll: Car Seats & Stroller Travel Systems
Noooo, not for me. For my SIL....
What is your opinion on car seat travel systems?
I did the infant car seat, snap & go until my kids were older & then opted for a regular stroller. I always read the travel systems are a pain the tush & very heavy & most people buy another stroller.
What did you do? Any regrets?

I did the same thing-infant seat and snap & go, regular stroller for later.
The travel systems seemed so big.

Re: Poll: Car Seats & Stroller Travel Systems
Hm. I can't say I completely *regret* the travel system. Yes, the stroller is huge and bulky and I did buy a snap n' go for quick outings but I do love the ride of the travel system stroller and use that for long walks, park outings etc. I like to walk a lot with DD and it has a great smooth ride. I do know some who would just get the car seat, snap n' go and a jogger but IMO, the cost of it would have been the same for us so we just went with the system.

Re: Poll: Car Seats & Stroller Travel Systems
We have the Chicco travel system. So carseat and stroller. We no longer use the carseat part, but the stroller is in my car, and we bought an umbrella stroller, that stays in DH's car.
So we both have a stroller, and we have a big one, and a lightweight one. Worked out well.
We did not buy the snap and go, to us the stroller with the travel system were the same weight when I tried picking them up.

Re: Poll: Car Seats & Stroller Travel Systems
I think it depends on the stroller. I didn't have a travel system, but my britax companion was able to snap into my Peg Perego Pliko stroller. I love love love love the stroller! I tested out some of the Graco travel systems and I thought they were too big and bulky for me. If the britax didn't fit in my stroller I would have used a snap and go.

Re: Poll: Car Seats & Stroller Travel Systems
With Nate I did the travel system and it was so bulky. I really wished I got a snap and go to use with the carrier. Once he was able to sit up, we started using the Chicco stroller. The stroller from the travel system was a total waste for me.

Re: Poll: Car Seats & Stroller Travel Systems
I got the travel system but used the Snap n Go when DD was in the infant seat. Once she outgrew it, I used the stroller part of the travel system.

Re: Poll: Car Seats & Stroller Travel Systems
Well I would do it differently the second time around, right now I have too many strollers
I would get the snap and go, a good umbrella (love my Maclaren) and one that is good for walks (a jogger or something like that). I like the stroller that came with my travel system but there is no way I would want to take that in and out of my car everyday (the graco quattro).

Re: Poll: Car Seats & Stroller Travel Systems
Love it! But I did get a snap and go too for little trips. The strollers are so big which are great for later after you arent using the infant seat anymore.

Re: Poll: Car Seats & Stroller Travel Systems
I would get the car seat and bases again, but not the stroller - it was toooooo big. I'd register for a really good smaller stroller. DS is 16 mos and walking. The only thing the big stroller was good for was when I had to change his diaper in a public bathroom, i could recline the stroller and not have to use the changing table in the bathroom.

Re: Poll: Car Seats & Stroller Travel Systems
Other . . . we got the infant carrier, the snap-n-go, and the coordinating Graco Glider stroller for the infant carrier. While DD was in the infant carrier, the snap-n-go was in my trunk, and the Graco glider was in DH's trunk. After DD outgrew the infant carrier I got another stroller for my every day use, and the Graco is still in DH's trunk.

Re: Poll: Car Seats & Stroller Travel Systems
I say other because I would carry Athan in his carrier and put him into a shopping cart if I was going to a store.
If I was just going out, I would take him out of the carrier completely and lay him flat in the Peg Perego Uno. I never had a "travel system."

Re: Poll: Car Seats & Stroller Travel Systems
We bought a seperate stroller (bumbleride indie) and carseat (keyfit30)
While we COULD snap the carseat onto the stroller, we never did. I didn't bring him into stores when he was under 4 months... and after 4 months, he switched to a convertible seat.
Now, the bumbleride (a mid-sized all terrain... bigger/heavier than an umbrella stroller) remains in my trunk... ready to go whenever I need it.
The 2 times we did stroll him around under 4 months, it was w/o the carseat. He was fine.
So, I would suggest a snap and go for shopping, and a stroller that has features that suits their lifestyle. For us, that meant all terrain, since port jeff and brooklyn have bumpy sidewalks...

Re: Poll: Car Seats & Stroller Travel Systems
I have the Graco Travel System and I loved it. I'll still use it when/if I go walking long distances these days so DD can have her snacks in the tray.
I bought a Maclaren when DD got older and we went traveling...LOVE it. I use this for every day use when and if i use a stroller. I don't usually use one anymore.
I'm looking into getting a jogging stroller when #2 comes along, but we'll see...I've got time to decide on that.
