POLL- GTG 4/25 - fixed price or not?
ok ladies i really need help here. i am not sure what is best to do:
1. fixed price menu, $25 - plates of appetizers, pitchers of soda and water, and a choice of 5 entrees. (i was mistaken, dessert is extra)
2. order from the menu and have everyone split the bill evenly.
i am estimating that the GTG will be between 25 and 35 people, possibly more.
in EITHER case, i would ask that anyone ordering alcohol either get it from the bar or start a separate tab with the servers because not everyone drinks and alcohol can really raise the price of the bill.
what do you think? i appreciate ANY and ALL input!!!

I vote for the $25 dinner. It sounds likea good deal to me. I think trying to collect from 25 - 35 people will be insane......and sometimes people forget to include the tax AND tip when they put their share in....KWIM? It's not like it's a $50 meal...

Either is fine with me but I agree...with that many people it will be MUCH easier to collect one set amount from everyone.

Re: POLL- GTG 4/25 - fixed price or not?
I would rather split the bill evenly...I think it will come out to a lot less then $25 and we can choose from what we really want.
I think $25 for TGIF's without dessert is a LOT.
If we are splitting it evenly, then everyone is paying the same price anyway ??
Plus Im a bit picky and Whose gonna pick out 5 entrees that will appeal to all?

Does the $25 include tax and tip? I don't mind either way but I agree it might be easier to collect one set amount.

Price fixed would be way easier. Whenever you go out with that many people it will ALWAYS come out to be more than you think between apps and desserts and sodas... Plus if one person orders a $10 dollar dinner, doesn't eat apps. and drinks water they wind up getting screwed by the people that order apps., soda, dessert and a $17 dinner, YKWIM?

Re: POLL- GTG 4/25 - fixed price or not?
I think I would like to change my vote, they have that menu with dinners that are $10, so figure if I ordered off that menu, 1/2 an app $5 and a soda $3, thats only $18, maybe 20 plus tax and tip would be fair. Not sure if you can negotiate apps for less money or something. I do think it would be ridiculous to try to split a bill for 35 ppl
I feel like Fridays would be ripping us off

i didn't come up with the menu myself, i spoke to a manager there and she told me that she had done a fixed price menu for another group of about 30, and she faxed me what TGI Fridays had done for them for the price of $25.
i am pretty sure that the entree choices are negotiable.

$18 plus tax ($1.49) = $19.49
$19.49 + 18% tip = $3.5082
You would owe $21.51.
And THIS is why I would make it a fixed price.
