POLL: Landing The Perfect Job - What Would You Do?

I was laid off unexpectedly a few weeks ago and started interviewing immediately. Because of bills, I had to take the first job offered to me, which isn't my first choice.

HOWEVER....

My first choice job really liked me. They thought I was a "perfect fit" for the company and the HR person even told my would-be boss that "she better snatch me up fast because someone is going to grab me." Then this woman went on vacation and returns on Monday. So..... here's my question: do I follow-up with her first thing Monday or wait a day, or something else?

(I really want this job.)

And....would you follow up via telephone, email or both?

TIA!

ETA: I took and just started a job elsewhere (they know this and don't seem to be conerned). It's so-so. I'd rather be there if offered.

I would f/u with HR on Tuesday. If this woman was on vacay-- she will be loaded down with a bunch of stuff. But I would send an email or something first thing Tuesday AM and then-- keep persisting.

I would send an email Monday, followed up by a phone call on Tuesday if you don't hear anything.

I would start the email by saying that you hope she had a nice vaca and that you are sure she is busy....blah blah blah

part of me wants to say give it a few days. It sounds like they don't want to lose you. You may even be able to work better $$ if you act nonchalant

then again.....I wouldn't want to you lose out either.

I guess I really am no help. Sorry
