poll re: age + strollers

in your opinion, how old is too old for a stroller?

keep in mind that i don't really have an opinion as i am not a mommy yet but i saw a five-year-old in a stroller at the mall today and i wanted to know if this was the norm. (although it could have been a tall four year old, but i doubt it.)

My son is almost 4 and he still grabs a seat in the back of my double Sit and Stand stroller. He walks so slow, I couldn't imagine getting anywhere anytime soon if I let him walk I think I can get away with him being in one longer, because I have a 21 months old too, who definitely needs to be in a stroller. I would say if he were my last, 3-4 would be the end of stroller days. We'll see what happens when my DD is that age.

I have a nephew who will be 4 in April. He only goes in the stroller for long walks and mostly that's because he gets tired and then wants to be held. It's just easier to start him off in the stroller.

But when I take him to the store he is walking, holding my hand.

eta: I could sort of understand the mom wanting DC in a stroller in the mall. Can be a crowded/busy place and that's probably the best way to keep track of DC.

Like you, I am not a mom yet so who knows, I may have a kid in a stroller at age 14

Before I had kids I would of said that age X is too old for a stroller. Now that I have all these kids I prefer to keep them in the stroller for as long as possible. We went to Disney world when the twins were 4 and we rented a stroller at each park. We definitely needed it to keep them from getting to tired...
