?: "Pool liner waterproofing" for basement
My basement filled to the ceiling with water.
One of my co-workers was telling me that he has a friend that waterproofs basements and they do this thing now that is like a pool liner.
Does anyone know anything about it, cost, and while I think if we get something as large as Sandy again, it will not necessarily matter, I am wondering if it's worthwhile to look into.

The product is called Sanitred... we had looked into it but the cost was outrageous... in theory it sounded like a good idea, but we couldn't justify the cost... I believe we were quoted something like $25,000!

Re: ?: "Pool liner waterproofing" for basement
We actually did this ourselves in our crawlspace with liner and it came back to bite us in the ass with the flooding from Sandy. The liner was holding the moisture in and we had to rip it open to let the air in and help with the draining. But, we had a crawlspace basement with sand, so I am not sure if would be different depending on the type of basement. We saved a ton in doing it ourselves though, it cost us in total about 5k, and an estimate to have someone do it was 20k. I wont lie, it was miserable but definitely worth the cost savings
