Poop question for those babies on table foods
Sidney's poop has been like charcoal pieces for a few days now. (sorry). I have cut back on the rice cereal and have given her water. Doesn't seem to be working. But maybe this is normal now that she is eating more table foods???
What should her poop look like these days?? She is BF and eats mostly cut up fruits and veggies plus rice cereal, pancakes, and rice puffs.
Thanks

Re: Poop question for those babies on table foods
I noticed Julia's poops have been much darker since she has been eating table foods. She also goes like one day with out a poop, then the next day she has an explosion. I notice when she eats a lot of rice or anything binding her poop is much harder and darker.
It could be the rice she is getting that is making it that color, try not giving it to her that much and see what happends, it could be just her eating regular foods now also, like you said.

OK, I'll talk poop...sometimes Bella's are dark like charcoal and other days they are light and actually look like a food she ate...ew! It really depends on what she eats...it's a surprise every time!

yea -- when Emily gets that way I give her avacado and it works almost within minutes ... but then expect the poop to go from black to green! It's crazy how much you can tell what they've been eating!

I've been giving her avacado for 4 days now (cause you've mentioned it being helpful in other posts) but so far not working.
She's actually been getting worse. Her poops the past 2 days have been tiny little hard pebbles. And I had stopeed giving her the cereal, puffs, and pancakes. I'm only giving her fruit, veggies, pear juice, water and BM. Plus I've upped the amount of water that I am drinking.
Can I give her prunes?????

Re: Poop question for those babies on table foods
My aunt-in-law who is a NICU nurse said that when they are really stopped up to try a q-tip with vaseline on it...I don't know if that works and how little they have to be, but it's worth a try...GOOD LUCK!

Usually corn syrup (Kyro in particular) helps loosen Christopher up. I usually mix it (about a tsp) with water and give it to him in a bottle, a few times a day. By the next day, he's back to normal.

When Gianna gets like this- I give her baby food prunes or straight apple juice- works like a charm. Good luck.
