Pooping in crate all of a sudden!

Oreo has recently started pooping in his crate when we are at work. It's been happening every day...not loose stool at all. We take him out before we crate him and as soon as we get home. It's never been a problem before. We thought since we had a lot of deliveries lately he was nervous when he heard the bell. We recently moved the crate into the master bedroom so he wouldn't have that bothering him, and it stopped for a day or 2, but started up again. Any ideas of what to do or what could be wrong? I thought dogs won't go in their beds.Chat Icon

How old is your dog? Maggie's bathroom habits changed from going twice a day to going three times a day. She'll either go one extra time midday or at night. I had to keep my dog walker for this reason, when I was working.... He's only $10 if you want to use him.

**also - the one time Maggie did poop in the crate it was loose because she was so nervous (cleaning lady was there vaccuming and I wasnt home).... if it's not loose then I would think that maybe your dogs adding an extra bathrrom trip in!

When he goes out, are you with him? Are you sure he's going? If you don't already, I would walk him. Most dogs can't resist doing their business on a good walk, and it's very good for them in a lot of ways.

I'd also go back to basics and pretend that you're crate training him for the first time. Change your schedule if it's not working too. It sounds like he needs more time from you to resolve this.
