Poor conehead dog...
I tried putting the collar on my dog since shes been biting at her paws a lot (possible allergies says the vet). But when i put it on she just stands there and won't move from the spot I put it on her. She looks so pitiful. Then when she does try to walk she bumps into everything. So i just take it off, I feel like I'm torturing her. How come some dogs seem to have no problem wearing that thing? Does it just take time to get used to? Although I'm not sure I want to try it again.

My dogs never had to wear them thank God. Poor little doggie must be so sad. It would break my heart too.
Did you try bitter apple on his paws? It is good for hot spots.

Re: Poor conehead dog...
You have to let her get used to it. You'd be bumping into things at first too if someone put a cone on you.
Leave the cone on for awhile.

give her some time to get used to it.As soon as you put it on her give her her favorite treat. Then continue to give her treats (just spread out the timing) until you take it off of her. ONly give her these "special" treats when she has the cone on.

Henry had to wear it when he had the absess drained on his neck. He bumped into walls to but eventually got used to it.
