Pop Up Video - a revelation
They just said that Pretty in Pink was supposed to end with Samantha getting together with Duckie. But that Molly Ringwald objected and they changed it.
I wanted her to end up with Duckie so bad.

I don't think it would have been realistic (because all movies should be  ).
I listen to Taylor Swift's "You Belong With Me". The lyrics "Dreaming about the day when you wake up and find what you're looking for has been here the whole time." makes me think don't encourage girls to stick around and be someone's back up.
How often does it happen that someone wakes up & falls in love with a long time friend? There are a few exceptions but for the most part, that friend is a friend because the attraction wasn't there.

I DVR pop up video I thought I was the only one that still watched it. All of my knowledge comes from that show. I once wrote a paper on Apartheid based on what I learned from the Sun City video.

VH1 Classic was awesome last night. After Pop Up Video, they had this show about the wh0res of 80's hair bands. It was... interesting.

Ooooooh... I might have to make a Christmas gift 'suggestion' to DH. 
Yea, that girl who he wrote "Every Rose Has It's Thorn" about was on there. She made it sound like it was brief and then it was over. Meanwhile, he still talks about it on Rock of Love.
The Cherry Pie girl was on there too. Talking matter of factly that she had to strip to support her coke habit and in turn, support the musicians because they had no money.

Btw, I agree. But at that age, I wanted the fairytale ending. I thought Blaine was a snob and not as good looking as Duckie. At the very least, Duckie had a better fashion sense.
