portion size for solid foods?

I am wondering how much I should be giving my DD. She is 8 months and I feed her three times a day. I male my own food and freeze it, so I usually give her three cubes worth of food at each meal. Should I give her more?

She should eat until she doesn't want anymore. I never measured out my DS's food. Just kept feeding until he was done.

Dd is 7 months and she mostly gets solids twice a day. Morning she gets 2tbsp of either oatmeal or multigrain cereal and a 4oz jar of stage 2 fruit. Dinner she gets a 4oz jar of food or plum pouch of stage 2 veggie dinner.

Sometimes if she is hungry she will also get a 4oz jar or plum pouch of a veggie.

In between she takes 4 bottles although one of the middle one she is not so into these days. That will prob get dropped by her.

This was pretty much what I did. If I was giving home made I usually did 3 cubes and if she finished it I would usually just mix up some plain oatmeal (I just added warm water so it was the easiest thing).

ITA. I never measured. Some days DS eats more, some days less.

This is what I did too. I never measured or tracked anything. With both kids, when they had enough they pushed the spoon away or stopped eating what was on the tray. They knew better than me what they needed, I just followed their lead. Chat Icon
