Possible Bad Timing

I had practically no PG symptoms and then today I started taking the prescription prenatals (Prima Care) and previously for the last 4 months I was taking Nature Made prenatals (with no nausea). Well today I felt SO sick and nauseous. I really thought I was going to have to puke in my garbage can at work.

Could it be a natural thing or is it the prenatals?

I was happy with my no symptom PG so far. Chat Icon

There is a good chance it could be the prenatal vitamins. I have to take mine right before I fall alseep or it makes me sick.

Re: Possible Bad Timing

How far along are you? I felt PERFECT until i passed the six week mark. Its been all down hill from there Chat Icon

But, it could also be the prenatals...my doc told me to take mine at night before bed because of this.

Hope it is just the prenatals!

Re: Possible Bad Timing

I would go back to the other vitamins. I never took Rx ones. I always took the GNC ones and never had any problems.

Yes, very possible. For this reason, I never took the Prima Care I just kept taking the Nature Made from Target. It could be m/s as well...but maybe try going back to the other vitamins and see.

Re: Possible Bad Timing

My prenatals sometimes make me feel queasy so I take them at night. I would ask your doctor but it sounds like it could be the vitamins. Feel better! Chat Icon

early on i changed prenatals and the new ones made me SICK! i had had NO m/s or nausea until i took these pills. once i switched back to my originals the nausea was gone and hasn't been back since. i still can't erase the nasty feeling and taste i my mouth from those prenatal pills! Chat Icon

Re: Possible Bad Timing

I would switch back to the non-prescription ones. My doctor said mine (CVS) were identical to the prescription ones and there was no since changing since I have been tolerating the CVS brand very well.

That is what I started doing and it made a huge difference. And even now that I seem to be past the nausea - I still take them at night - why mess with a good thing, right?

Re: Possible Bad Timing

Can you take a small amount of food with the vits? I know this helped in the beginning when I was feeling nauseous.

Re: Possible Bad Timing

hmm it could be prenatals... in my case I thought the prenatals were making me sick so I stopped taking them for couple of days using the ones that I bought at Walgreen before I got pregnant... anyways, I would still get m/s so I knew it wasnt the prenatals... what week are you? I started getting nauseaous around week 8...

Re: Possible Bad Timing

IN the first trimester the prenatals made me nautious from week 7 until week 14. I took them at night after eating and went right to bed so i wouldnt feel the sickness.

Take them at night before you go to sleep. I take the same vitamins and have taken them in the morning and felt horrible. I take them right before I go to sleep and they don't affect me.

Feel better!

I haven't taken them yet but my doctor gave me prenatals and told me to take them at night with dinner.... She said they could cause nausea.

Re: Possible Bad Timing

Thanks girls!

Well the prescription ones are designed to take 1 in the morning and 1 in the evening.

Well today I brought snacks and when I felt yucky rumbling in my tummy, I ate baby carrots and crackers and NO nausea. So guess it is the vitamins but I can get around it by eating more. Chat Icon
