Possibly a stupid question...
We're planning a weekend trip to Atlantic City with our friends, but I am worried about all the smoke in those casinos. I don't smoke, never have and am hardly ever around cigarette smoke. Should I not go to AC because of the smoke?

it could be worse... but IMO second hand smoke is BAD. I wouldnt go.

I guess it depends on how much time you'll be spending in there. If it will make you sick physically, then ddont go. As far as the effects on the baby, probably none ......Second hand smoke is dangerous, but you would need to be around it on a continual basis like in years for it to have an effect on you....

It won't make me sick, I was just afraid of it affecting the baby. I have no idea how much smoke inhalation it would take to have an affect on the baby.

there are smoke free sections of the casiono ask your friends if they could accomodate you with this.

I was just in Vegas for a week, and I have to say that it wasn't as bad as I thought. They must have really good ventilation systems in the casinos because there wasn't a cloud of smoke hovering over the room, as I expected there would be. I made sure to avoid sitting near anybody who was smoking and I was okay. The biggest problem I found was smelling the smoke as I was walking through crowds, which could happen anywhere. I just covered my mouth and nose because the smell really makes me ill. I would go if I were you, and try to go to the non-smoking portions (which Vegas didn't have), or just try to avoid being in the direct "line of fire".

I'm going to AC in February for a concert and spending the night. I go to AC a lot, its not that bad with the smoke. I stay away from the smokers the best I can, I don't sit near them even before I was pg.

We went to Atlantic city with friends when they were expecting and I think its fine as long as you aren't breathing it in everyday. Try to sit at a non smoking table or keep away from the smokers.

No way would I go! 2nd hand smoke is bad enough for you but think of the little baby inside you who's lungs are still developing. I wouldn't go.

We were in a casino recently and I just stayed away from the smoke, I stayed where it was non smoking or where no one was smoking

Some casinos have better ventilation than others...the Borgota was FULL of icky smoke, while the Tropicana had just as many smokers, but you couldn't tell because it was so well ventilated. Just make sure you have a non-smoking room if the smell bothers you...smoking rooms never get rid of the stale smell!!!

I'm going in February so it's interesting to see you posting about it and it's got me wondering too if f I should go. We are going for 2 nights.
I guess we would have to stay away from the smokers as much as we can.
