Post Office Question

My friend is married to a Naval Officer and they just moved to Sicily in July. I got a card I wanted to send her today, but I don't know if I have to go to the Post Office or can I just put a regular old stamp on it and call it a day?

Durr, forgot to mention that it is an APO.

She sent me something for DS and it looked like normal postage (and was a USPS tag on it)

my friend was in Okinawa years ago with her DH when he was in the Marines. I always sent her letters and packages with reg postage.

Re: Post Office Question

I had a pen pal form England when I was younger, I think I used to just put 2 stamps on it and just drop it in the mailbox.

Re: Post Office Question

Just send it with a regular stamp & the APO address--don't put the city & country they live in on it, to avoid confusion.

APO mail is only sent to NY or SF to through the postal system (most likely NY for Italy) and the military does the rest, so you only have to pay domestic rates.

More info: here
Scroll down to the "postage" section.
