Post partum anxiety and the mini pill
My DD is 3 months. I've been experiencing more anxiety and depression the last 2 weeks. I also started the mini pill (norethindrone) about 5 weeks ago. I'm wondering if that is the cause of my anxiety. I took regular birth control pills for 10 years with no problem which leads me to think no but maybe the mini pill us a whole other animal?

Post partum anxiety and the mini pill
I took the mini pill for years with zero side effects other than spotting if I did not take it at the exact time every day.
Mini pill has less hormones so I wouldn't think it would cause the anxiety

Re: Post partum anxiety and the mini pill
I had horrible experiences with the mini pill after both my dd's. After dd 1, my anxiety after I started it was so bad I went off the pill altogether and was a different person literally within 3 days of stopping it. Same thing after dd2 (not sure why I tried t again, but I guess I thought low hormones meant less side effects?), but this time after 3 months of anxiety and total bitchiness, i switched to the normal (not low dose) ortho try cyclen, and I've been fine. That mini pill was awful awful for me.

If you were on regular OCP without issue I doubt it. The mini pill is progestin while the combo (regular) pill is estrogen and progestin.
Are you taking it at the EXACT same time every day? If not, I suppose the hormone drop could cause some very minimal side effects (it's unlikely but not impossible). Personally, I would never trust it. It's quite ineffective if you're not extremely diligent about taking it at the same time everyday.
