Post wedding sadness?

Not MAJOR sadness; but just disappointment that the "wedding" is all over? DH & I had a very small wedding-only 30 people. Sometimes when i see wedding shows on TV i get sad that our "day" is over and passed. I said that for our 5 or 10 year anniversary we'd have a big party.

I don't know if it's just because we did it so small i get sad when i see wedding or if it's just normal to feel like this because its all over now? I obsessed about "Weddings" before. Now I'm trying to throw myself in decorating the house.

Am i the only one that feels like this?? I don't know if we had the big 200pp wedding if I'd feel like this too?

I think it's totally normal to feel the way you do, regardless of how big your wedding was. You spent the last X months thinking about this day and now it's passed.

As the days wear on and "life" starts back up you'll feel better.

Hang in there...Chat Icon

I had the post wedding blues and I had the big wedding, so you probably would've felt it either way. The good news is it doesn't last, life gets in the way. Chat Icon

Normal. Totally normal. I had a big wedding - 175 people, big reception hall, the whole 9-yards. I very clearly remember when it was over being depressed for weeks. It felt like it all happened so fast. So much planning for 5 hours that just flew by in the blink of an eye. I remember dwelling on the "woulda, shoulda, couldas", everything that I would have done differently, things that bothered me, things that just didnt last long enough. I tortured myself with the post-wedding blues.

About a month after the wedding we moved down to Georgia to a new apartment and I threw myself into decorating. It helped take my mind off of the wedding being "over". But I promise, that feeling will go away soon enough anyway. Just keep yourself occupied with a new project Chat Icon
