Post your all time favorite (easiest and foolproof) crockpot recipe

So I decided I'm going to start cooking again...a little. Since I have a baby I think the crockpot would be easiest since I can't watch over the stove/oven when taking care of her.

Please post your all time fav crockpot recipes. I eat fish and veggies and dh eats everything. I would love all recipes since whatever I make for him would be good for him for a couple days since I don't eat meat.

Ok, I have a few that I love to make and make fairly often:
What I call sweet and sour chicken(sounds like a nasty combination but soooo good)
bag of chicken (I use Target brand)
1 can of cranberry sauce (jellied or whole work)
1small bottle of french dressing
1 bag of lipton onion soup mix
pour chicken into crock pot, pour other ingredients over top, 6-8 hours on low, serve over rice

BBQ Chicken
Bag of chicken (Target brand)
1bottle of Sweet Baby Rays (small)
1/4c brown sugar
splash of white vinegar
pour chicken into crock pot, pour other ingredients over top, 6-8 hours on low. Serve over egg noodles

My version of chicken stroganoff:
Bag of chicken (Target brand, see a theme here?)
1can of condensed mushroom soup
1package of lipton onion soup mix
16oz carton of sour cream.
pour chicken into crock pot, pour other ingredients over top, 6-8 hours on low, when finished, take chicken out, shred it up and place back into crock pot for a few minutes. Serve with tortillas or over rice (OMG, sooooo good)

Oh and I found a recipe on this site that was good too.
1spaghetti squash
1bag of meatballs
1jar of sauce
Cut spaghetti squash to fit in crock pot (I had to quarter it), add meatballs, pour sauce over top. 6 hours on low. When finished, take out squash and shred it, put back into crock pot for a few minutes and serve as spaghetti and meatballs

I have lots more at home, this is all I can think of while I'm at workChat Icon

Do you peel the skin off the spaghetti squash first? I've always wanted to try spaghetti squash this sounds like an easy way for a first timer.

Stupid question.....for the bags of chicken, are they cutlets or on the bone? Do you just out the frozen chicken in the crockpot or it can't be frozen?

I like making chili in it - this is a really good/easy recipe - I sometimes do beef instead of turkey: http://www.skinnytaste.com/2009/01/crock-pot-3-bean-turkey-chili-3125-pts.html

Also, I'll put in a whole chicken, add rosemary, a little butter, lemon and season it, and put it in there on low - I think 8 hours? And after that, it's full of broth and chicken that literally falls apart into pieces. Awesome for making things like quesadillas after or chicken noodle soup!

i put frozen chicken in, its fine. You can do breasts or bone in - but dont do thin sliced chicken breasts. if you google cooking light slow cooker they have great recipes - i like chicken provencal and beef stroganoff. Chili is super easy. I've made a whole chicken in the slowcooker, its good just skin doesnt get crispy. Chicken with stewed or diced tomatoes. Chicken with salsa. I follow regular recipes too and use the slow cooker. Soups are easy - use chicken or veggie broth, add any veggies you like, some tomato sauce and spices - so good!

This is my new favorite. I usually use the sutton and dodge meatballs from target. They're all beef and so tasty. I do it on high for 3 hours. Just halve or quarter the squash, no peeling.

My other favorite is pulled pork. I get a bone in pork shoulder and put that in with a sliced onion and a can of root beer. Let it go on low about 6 hours or until it shreds very easily. Drain the liquid and put the shredded meat back in the crockpot with a bottle of sweet baby rays bbq sauce. Delicious!

I've used both cutlets and bone in breasts.

Cutlets don't take as long to cook.

I prefer them to be defrosted but I have cooked them frozen.

So I got the pork shoulder, onion and BBQ sauce. Came home and was just going to throw it all in. Checked this post and thought crap I didn't see the root beer. So now I'm improvising and a can of wild cherry Pepsi is going in.

Oh no, I'm sorry! I think you'll be fine with the cherry pepsi though. You really don't taste the soda at all in the end. I've also had it with beef broth but I think it comes out better with the soda. Hope he enjoys it!

Buffalo chicken:

chicken breast
bottle of frank's buffalo wing sauce
few Tbsp of butter
1/2 or so packet of Hidden Vallet Ranch powder

Cook until you can shred. Yum!

Cream cheese/black bean chicken

chicken breast
drained black beans
jar of salsa
taco seasoning (I make my own but a packet is fine)

Once shredded add some cream cheese and mix until creamy. Great in tortillas or on salad.

I know you would never think of Chicken Parm in a crock pot.
But I made this a few weeks ago and it was SO GOOD!

Crock Pot Chicken Parmesan

2-4 boneless, skinless chicken breast halves
1/2 cup Italian Seasoned Bread Crumbs
1/4 cup Parmesan Cheese
1/4 t black pepper
1/4 t kosher salt
1 TBSP olive oil
1 egg, beaten
sliced or shredded mozzarella cheese
favorite jarred marinara sauce

Spread the 1 TBSP of olive oil into the bottom of your crockpot.
Beat the egg with a fork in a separate bowl.
Mix the bread crumbs with the seasonings and the Parmesan cheese in another separate dish.
Dip the chicken into the egg, then into the bread crumb mixture, coating both sides with crumbs, cheese and seasonings.
Place the chicken breast pieces in the bottom of the crockpot.
Layer 2-3 slices or 1-2 cups of mozzarella cheese on top, depending on how much cheese you like.
Cover chicken and cheese with entire jar of marinara sauce.
Close lid and cook on low for 5-6 hours or high for 3.
Serve with your favorite pasta.

I swear by the McCormick seasoning packet recipes for the slow cooker especially the pulled pork and beef stew ones.
