Poster in hiding, needs some advice

Sorry for the pseudo-name, but I dont want anyone to know about my pregnancy. At least not until I see a heartbeat.

I have been getting BFP since I was about 9DPO. The day AF was due I called my Dr, who sent over a script to Quest for bloodwork. That was Monday afteroon around 2pm, on Tuesday they called me at 930am to tell me my Estradiol was 221, progesterone was 20 and HCG was 352. I was told to go back to Quest today for follow-up I had my blood drawn at 8:00am. My results today are Estridol 329, Progesterone 19.4 and HCG 707.6.

Now my HCG # is doubling, but should I be concerned about the progesterone? The nurse said she would talk to the Dr to see about supplements. Has this happend to anyone?

Oh to add, I'm not a first time mom, I do have 1 DC

Thanks ladies

First off congrats. It's great that your beta is doubling that's the most important thing. Your progesterone seems fine to me still but if you are worried there is nothing wrong with asking for a prescription of progesterone suppositories. It couldn't hurtChat Icon

They like to see progesterone around 14 or higher. Your numbers are good and the doubling HCG is wonderful Chat Icon Congrats!!

I agree-I would ask for the suppositories since it did drop slightly. However-I was told by one of my Dr's that progesterone can fluctuate throughout the day. You only have to worry about this until 9-12 weeks when teh placenta produces all the progesterone you'll need. GL!

Re: Poster in hiding, needs some advice

I think your numbers are fine.

The doctors don't really get concerned about progesterone levels unless they are under 12 or so.

And as an above poster mentioned, it can go up and down through out the day

They might want you to do another bloodwork to check it though.

And by the way - Congratulations!! Chat Icon

My progesterone was pretty low - around 16. They did not think I neeeded suppositories.

Re: Poster in hiding, needs some advice

For this pregnancy, my progesterone dropped two times. From 42 to 29 and then to 24. I had the same concerns. As long as it did not go under 15, I was not going to get suppositories. If you feel better asking for them, it certainly couldn't hurt. I am 12 weeks now and everything is fine.

Re: Poster in hiding, needs some advice

I am going to do the suppositories, the dr feels its best given that I had 2 m/c prior to this pregnancy.
When I was pg with my DC I never knew my HCG, Progesterone or Estrodiol levels. Now its all I can think aboutChat Icon
