pot roast recipe?
Anyone have a good pot roast recipe?
Either for the oven or crockpot - thanks!

JUST got one that looks awesome:
INGREDIENTS
2 (10.75 ounce) cans condensed cream of mushroom soup
1 (1 ounce) package dry onion soup mix
1 1/4 cups water
5 1/2 pounds pot roast
DIRECTIONS
In a slow cooker, mix cream of mushroom soup, dry onion soup mix and water. Place pot roast in slow cooker and coat with soup mixture.
Cook on High setting for 3 to 4 hours, or on Low setting for 8 to 9 hours.
YUM!!!
you can put carrots and potatoes or other veg in the last couple of hours (maybe 3ish) for a quick side dish too

rub the meat with olive oil, and pepper and salt (i always use the peppercorn medley), garlic powder and some steak seasoning all over the meat. toss into a hot pan with a little olive oil to get it nice and brown on all sides
in a large pot, throw in onions, celery and carrots, water or chicken broth, and whatever red wine you like to drink...cover it (leave the cover half off) and let it boil, i guess, for a few hours- depending on how much meat you have...check on the pot every half hour or so- i always chuck in extra wine

That's how I do it and it's delicious.

I think this is the recipe I made! I put red potatoes and onion on the bottom. Laid the roast on top. Let it cook on low for almost 10 hours. Meat was so tender. Delicious!
