Pottery Barn Furniture
Has anyone ordered furniture from them? I am planning on ordered a buffet but I want to make sure people have been happy with them. Thanks.

Re: Pottery Barn Furniture
I love their style but was just complaining to DH about our DR table and buffet. It nicks and scratches so easily. You pay a fortune for their stuff and I don't think it's the best quality.
If I do buy anymore Pottery Barn stuff I'll only shop at the outlet now or buy clearance stuff at the store.

Re: Pottery Barn Furniture
their prices are (IMO) reasonable but the shipping costs are very expensive. 10% is applied to items over $200 plus a surcharge for bulk items.

I thought that too... for a piece of furniture that $999 they want $150 for shipping.... I should just look around for something else, but I'm being lazy.

$150 is probably just the surcharge (bulk item). keep in mind that an additional 10% is added plus tax. the total on a $999 furniture item will most likely be close to $1,300. call the 800# and ask what the total cost is including shipping and tax.

Re: Pottery Barn Furniture
I have the Pottery Barn Signature Bar (I think it's discontinued now) and I love it. I get tons of compliments on it.

I don't believe that their drawers are dovetailed. I won't buy stapled drawers but I do love the Pottery Barn. I have a lot of their things but nothing with drawers!

Re: Pottery Barn Furniture
the outlet has tons of furniture, I was there today. They always have stuff that is offered at such a reduced price I think its worth it. Some of their regular priced items are more expensive then true quality furniture makers. IMO a pottery barn table should not be as much as an Ethan Allen table.

I have to get out to Riverhead... hopefully they still have it!
Did you have to bring it home yourselves though?? We don't have a truck....

Yes, you have to go past Tanger 2- someone more familiar with the area may be able to describe it better- but it's not part of the Tanger 1 or 2 sections, so it might be hard to find if you do not know where to look.

Re: Pottery Barn Furniture
We have Pottery Barn dressers. They are a bit more expensive, but we looked at about 6 other stores before going back to PB. IMO, the quality was much better than all of the other stores we looked at and we had a VERY difficult time finding anything both of us liked. DH was not interested in looking at the outlet store, and there was only 1 style that we both agreed on, so it was worth it to us to spend the extra $$.
PB was a pleasure to deal with as far as delivery too. I have heard a lot of horror stories about furniture, but they were great - good customer service and they gave a 3 hour window that they would deliver in, and showed up 1/2 hour into that time frame.
ETA: shipping costs are added on to catalog prices, but the prices in the store (higher) include the shipping charges. I also looked on the website and it says my drawers are dovetailed, nails and glue
