Pottery Barn Kids bumpers...how do I tie them?

So I thought I had the bumper tied in correctly way back when I first put them in, but now that DD is sleeping in her crib, I am afraid the look like they are gaping and she can grab a piece and stuff it in her mouth.

Do I need to sew on extra ties?

I have the same problem and was going to post the samething. I noticed they made it longer so I overlap the ends and it seems to be better. DS doesn't put the bumper in his mouth though or sleep next to it. I also noticed that the ties don't seem to match up to the corners and that drives me nuts and I am always tring out a new way to tie it when I changeh is sheets.
I purchased a different brand for DD and it is 4 seperate pieces thinking it would be better but 2 pieces fit perfect and the other 2 ends have a little gap also. None of this makes sense to me when a crib is standard size.
