Potty Training
After reading many posts on Parenting that warned against a potty seat - do it right on the potty, I'm thinking there is no way us twin moms can do that right? If one is sitting there for 15 minutes, where is the other one? And what if the other one has to go during that 15 minutes? I guess it's potty seats for us?
If you do get potty seats, what room will you put them in?

Most of the posters were saying that you transition them to the potty seat, then you have to make another transition to the toilet...so just to do it right on the toilet.
And by potty seat, I mean one of these (I guess they're called potty chairs):

Re: Potty Training
I started with a little potty & if we are in the bathroom they go on the potty. There was no transition problems.

Laura...I thought the same thing when I was reading those posts. I have no idea what I will do, because I want to do it together....when the time comes, I am NOT rushing it, which looks like the case for some people..I dont know why

Oh, okay. I'll use 2 potties and transition them to the real thing eventually. It's too hard to time it properly otherwise. I'm not going to stress over it.

when is everyone going to try to start potty training??
This summer, I think, if they are ready. And only because I can let them run around without a diaper and figure out when they go. I think that will make it easier for me. And, if they aren't ready, I'll hold off.
Now they tell me when they've gone - they point and say "poop." Because they do this I put them on the toilet a few times to see what would happen - they liked playing with the toilet paper but that's as far as it got. I'll probably buy an Elmo seat to put on the toilet and maybe put them there and on the potty seat to train.

Re: Potty Training
i might try this summer as well, depending on if they are ready. I will definitely get a potty seat, because I was told by many btdt moms, to put the seat where they are playing, and start to creep the seat out and moving it eventually to the bathroom.

Re: Potty Training
I've always heard it's great to do over the summer b/c you can leave them diaperless and let them roam free outside

Re: Potty Training
We didn't go with a potty, and as of right now only one is semi interested in it. We will be starting full force in the spring and using the big potty. I hope to train one and then the other, actually I hope the sitter does it, LOL.
