Potty training and bedtime
My DD goes down for a nap like a dream, but getting her to sleep at night has been an hour long process.
She tries to get me into the room to cover her, hug her, kiss her, cover her, needs water, cover her, needs to go potty, etc.
She has figured out that when she says she needs to go potty, I'll take her out of bed and put her on the toilet. (I ignore her other pleas.)
But then she'll just sit there, start singing songs, counting, says she's done and takes off.. no pee comes out and I've been duped.
Please tell me - should I just ignore her? What do you do?

Re: Potty training and bedtime
Personally, potty time is before bed, and she gets no liquids like 90 minutes before bedtime, so it limits the chances that she's being honest about the potty. Maybe try that and also, ignore her. If she has an accident, then clean it up and obviously just let her lay back down. I'd chance the accident because chances are, she's just looking to get out of bed.

Re: Potty training and bedtime
same thing going on here...
i personally won't ignore potty requests. there have been a few times i would have sworn there is no way DD had to go, but sure enough, she did. the times i "know" she's playing me, i let her. if it drags on for 5+ minutes i'll warn her i'm coming in and taking her off. usually that gets her to get off herself and back into bed.
i figure eventually even she will get tired of the game...
