Potty training and naps...how does it work?

Ella is pretty much potty trained at home during the day. She's been wearing panties, and will go on the potty as needed.

Yesterday was the first day I attempted to leave the house without a diaper and she fell asleep in the car. I knew there was no way she'd wake up dry, so I put a diaper on her for the nap (amazingly she didn't wake up while I undressed and diapered her).

How's this work? Her naps are erratic these days - sometimes she naps, sometimes she doesn't. She's unwilling to go down for a nap anymore but will fall asleep in the car or stroller. So do I continue diapering when we go out if she may nap, and how do I get her trained when sleeping?

She still wakes up very wet in the morning (I need to cut down on how much she drinks before bed) so it may be awhile until she's night trained.

I started keeping her in her undies for naps after about 2-3 weeks of solid pottytraining during the day without many accidents.

I would just make sure to have her use the potty before a nap and then see how she did. She transitioned very easily to naps - nighttime was harder. I would wait until she starts waking up with a dry diaper, consistently, for a week or two before attempting pottytraining at night.

We're starting PT tomorrow & I just posted a question about it a few minutes ago, then saw your post. This is a great question- I'd like to completely avoid diapers & only use pull-ups at night, but I have no idea what to do for naps! Can you put a thin pad/chuck under her while she sits/sleeps in the car/stroller so that she doesn't leak all over the fabric?

Other than going potty right before nap, I don't know!
