Potty training experts please come in....
How do you even begin to start the "training process"??
I know I still have some ways to go, DD is only 15 months, but if there are some good pointers or tricks to the trade, I'd love to get a grasp on them now, so I know what I'm in for and so I can be prepared.
When DO you begin?
TIA!

I would wait - you have time!!
My dd is going ot be three next month and I just potty trained her last week. She was resisitant up to that point - but she had to be trained for school so I just stayed home for about a week and did it cold turkey.
I HIGHLY HIGHLY HIGHLY recommend the DVD potty power. MY dd would sit on her little potty and watch it and poop or pee every time!!!! it was a big help!

Re: Potty training experts please come in....
They say there should be
Regular predictable bathroom habits...same time of day etc.
The ability to understand what wet, dry, means.
The ability to pull their own pants and underwear down and up.
The physical ability of the urethera to control ( hold) the bladder ( and spincter) to allow them to get to the toilet before going...ie...stop themselves from going. ( this is faster in girls then in boys, which is why girls train easier usually..
And finally the need to get approval from peers, parents. This usually occurs at like 16-28 months ( I think , cant remember)...they need to want to get something in return for actions...a reward...parents approval etc.
I wrote a long paper in College on an aspect of Potty training so thats the bits I can remember HTH
Not real "tips" but helps to know what to look for.

I do not think it is too early to start...I bought a potty seat for mikayla and I sit her on it the same time every day (first fully clothed, then with no diaper)
my sitter is going to begin working with her during the day soon
Mikayla has told me 2 times recently right before she goes #2, that is a SIGN to me that she may be ready soon
