potty training prizes
what are good small prizes that i can reward DD with for potty training. I bought a few $1 princess cups but need some other ideas.
I dont think M&Ms or candy will work.
She likes putting quarters into her piggy bank so that might work - does money work for 2.5 year olds?
Thanks.

Yep..I've used money. She loves putting coins in her piggy bank. She called it her treasure. Also loves stickers so every time she would go on the potty she would put stickers in her special sticker book!

I used a sticker chart. After 10 stickers she got a prize. I gave her small plush dolls of tv characters she likes.

Re: potty training prizes
I used a sticker chart and DD received those small strawberry shortcake or la la loopsey dolls. I got them on sale for about $1.50 each a few years ago and just stocked up when they were on a huge sale.

Re: potty training prizes
I know you said they wouldn't work, but M&Ms worked like a charm for my DD. She never really had them before, and it was new to her. She will literally do anything for the promise of 2 M&Ms.
Anything that will be special and new will probably work as a reward.

Re: potty training prizes
m&m's worked for me I also took them to the $ store and let them pick out a few things and kept them in a bowl in the bathroom. I made a sticker chart...everytime they went to the bathroom and were dry they got a sticker. after a certain amount of stickers they could pick a prize

Re: potty training prizes
We used money. Penny for pee-pee and nickel for poop. She gets a dime if she keeps her bed dry at naps. She gets excited each time she goes bc she knows she will get to add money to her piggy bank.

Re: potty training prizes
thanks. she was motivated with the sticker chart when we first tried potty training but then it stopped working and we took a break. Now trying again. Maybe getting prizes for accumulating stickers will work.
She already gets a few m&ms here and there as a treat so i dont think it will work for potty training.
maybe i should just ask her what she wants...

I pick up little things in the target $1 bin section. Little markers, pencil case, bracelets, things like that.

This is how we did it as well. I made the chart so that every tenth square had a star in it and he knew that when he got a sticker on a star square, he got a prize. We had recently bought him the Fisher Price talking zoo, so we used the individual animals as prizes (because there are a million of them!).
