Potty Training question (I wanna join the club)

Chat Icon totally kidding.

Somewhere in the back of my mind I hope she just sorta tells me one day "I want the potty" and be done.

So auntie has her sit on the pot. She's twice pooped it in. But its not summer time so AJ's only over there a day or two max a week.

But daycare changed effective 1/1. Her class is no longer pre-primary but primary. Offically preschool. They have 3yr olds and other potty trained children mixed in now.

So they younger ones, AJ included, see them go into the bathroom (in class) and ask to go too. Tuesday she sat on the pot three times but was wet already or wet shortly thereafter.

Yesterday she asked to sit on the pot and peed there.

She's going longer and longer dry. I am ashamed to admit but Monday she was changed at 6pm and was dry every time we looked and next thing you know its the next MORNING Chat Icon I felt so bad when I changed her and saw her daycare stamp on her diaper. Chat Icon but she was dry all night and not even super full in the morning.

Is she sending me signals I'm ignoring? Do you think its time?

If she is holding it for an extended amount of time, I would think she is ready.

Re: Potty Training question (I wanna join the club)

Yes, she is ready!

If she is asking to sit on the pot AND peeing there then she is definitely telling you:

1) she knows when she has to go,
2) she knows what the potty is for, and
3) she can hold it till she is on the potty.

And the fact that she can hold it for so long shows control!

Go for it! What do you have to lose? If she's not ready, just put it aside and move on.
