Potty training setback. Ugh.
So, Ava was basically potty trained with no problems during the day, but about a week ago she got a really, really bad rash on her behind, and has been afraid to poop ever since. So now, she keeps holding it in and telling me she's scared it's going to hurt, so she's been having accidents (#2 ). So now we're back to putting her in pull-ups, and I don't know what to do to get her to believe me she's ok. Anyone else having setbacks? She was doing so fantastic, and now with the pull-ups, if she has an accident, she's not telling me, so it's making the rash come back.

Yes we were doing so well over here and DS came along and now DD is being stubborn. My gf that has a DD the same age as our girls is experiencing the same thing too. Everyone I talk to says it took their kids a weekend to train and they never had accidents. I don't get it??

I don't have any advice but I do know that set backs are completely normal!
Good luck!

Re: Potty training setback. Ugh.
I have zero experience with this.
But maybe bribe her? lol
The only other thing I can think of is explain to her since the rash is gone her booty won't hurt anymore.

Re: Potty training setback. Ugh.
Alex experienced a few setbacks with pottytraining and the most important thing I learned is to just not stress about it - the more frustrated I became, the more pressure I put on her, the more she would repel.
So everytime she regressed, I would just pull out all my old techniques, particularly rewards. I'd just keep her in the pullups and start using rewards again for everytime she uses the potty. Think about it this way - she won't be pooping in her pants when she's 18 so it really doesn't make a difference if she's fully pottytrained this month or 6 months from now. Just take her lead and give her plenty of props to encourage her.
I'd also pick up a pottytraining DVD for her if you don't already have one, and a few books. When we had setbacks, I'd read her big girl potty books over and over again, ad nauseum.
