Potty training woes
So we are on Day 5 and my 2.5 yr old DD is just not catching on. We tried the 1st 3 days of just having her wear panties and she literally peed all over my house. I gave her lots of liquids and took her to the potty every 15-20 minutes. She would sit there and read her books and sing songs or try pulling out all the toilet paper lol but would not pee on the potty. She kept asking for her diaper all day. We tried rewarding her with stickers (which she loves) but she keeps telling us she is done and tries to hop off the potty seat. In 5 days, she peed on the potty 4 times. We also have her in a pull up at nap and bedtime. Any advice? I'm exhausted from cleaning up and sitting on my bathroom floor with her.

Could it be she's just not ready yet? And if she isn't, that's ok. Maybe try again in a few months?

Re: Potty training woes
Sounds like she's not ready yet. I'd give it a couple of months and try again.
With my DS, he was 2 years 10 months and literally trained himself - asked to wear underwear one day and we never looked back. He's been trained now just over 3 months and has never had an accident, night included.
I think they train when they're ready and you can't force it.

I agree with the others posters, she's not ready yet. Give it a couple of months.

Like others said, I'd wait and revisit it in a few months. I tried with dd at 2.5 bc she seemed so capable and we were all miserable and got nowhere. A few days after she turned 3 she was finally willing and she was trained by lunchtime.

Re: Potty training woes
Have her go commando. Undies feel like diapers and give them the security to go in them. Our first time was a disaster, and the second time she wore no panties for a few days and it worked great. She night trained herself 2 weeks after being day trained.
I'd recommend tossing diapers, pull-ups, etc. except for naps and overnight.
There's a lot of research that doesn't support the idea of kids being "ready." Many cultires train much earlier than us. It's a matter of teaching them how and when to go.
I loved "oh crap, potty training." It's a funny and helpful book and worked like a charm.
