Powerded Formula & bubbles
What do you do to reduce the amount of bubbles when you mix powdered formula? Ijust made a 2oz bottle and i think there is an equal ratio of bubbles to formula.
I warmed the water, put the powder in and shook. Should I be doing something different? I'm new at this formula thing

I use Dr Browns so the bubbles come right out when feeding

Re: Powerded Formula & bubbles
You can use a drop or two of Mylicon - the bubbles disappear instantly. Or just wait a minute or two, eventually they'll dissipate on their own.

me too....I let the bottle sit for a few and they disappear. Or I'll make one in advance and put it in the fridge till she's ready for it.

It must be super bubbles in that bottle! I made it at 12pm, and it's 2:30pm sitting in the fridge, and it still has bubbles!

Re: Powerded Formula & bubbles
oooh...ok. Try opening the nipple and letting the air out. Maybe it's too tight and the air can't escape on it's own.

Re: Powerded Formula & bubbles
With dr. browns you are not supposed to shake, only stir otherwise too many bubbles.

Re: Powerded Formula & bubbles
I make a batch of formula in a big glass measuring cup and stir gently with a little whisk.

Re: Powerded Formula & bubbles
I am sure you don't want to switch formulas, but I used Nestle Good Start and it made hardly any bubbles at all compared to Similac.
I would just make it shortly before you need it and let it settle.

Re: Powerded Formula & bubbles
I have the same problem, its so annoying. I am always tring to find a short cut to making the bottles and their isnt. For some reason I loose count when I put the powder in when I make the indvidual bottles.
