PP complication - gallstones!
Oh my, I am having all the symptoms of gallstones - pale stools (i know tmi), right upper belly pain and right shoulder pain. Thank god pain is mild...
No fever though so I will mention it at my PP visit. I hope it gets better with a low-fat diet. I finally got the hang of BF so I don't want to ruin it. My mom and grandmother both had to have their GB removed after having their 2nd baby.
Anyone else have this? Did it get better?

for some reason gall bladder problems rear their very ugly head with pregnancy, three people I know had to have their GB's out right after giving birth.
They wanted to tear it out of their own bodies before the pain was so bad, but they wait until after you give birth unless it it a very very emergency situation.
please see you Dr.!

YEP!!! This happened to me and I ignored symptoms for months before it was too late and I had to drive MYSELF with my son to the ER. I knew what it was, but I never took care of it. Please call your doctor - it's not fun when something routine like this ends up as an emergency... HUGS!

I wouldn't wait for your next checkup, I would make an appt with your dr now, if left untreated gallstones can become very serious. If you see your dr he can determine if you need your gallbladder out asap or not. As for BF when I was in the hospital for my gallbladder my roommate had her appendix out and the hospital gave her a pump which she said she was sending home with her DH. Not sure about this stuff though b/c I didn't BF.

Re: PP complication - gallstones!
You need to go see your regular Dr about it, having gallbladder issues is a heck of a lot different than having actual gallstones. The stones can block your ducts causing an infection and can even lead to major complications.
Gallstones is normally not something younger women deal with....it's believed to be possible from prolonged use of the pill.
I had my gallbladder out when I was 23. I had the fever, the chills, the severe vomitting, the excrutiating pain. It was a simple surgery and recovery was not bad. The few weeks leading up to it, I lived on salads, fat free carvel ice cream, and simple foods. Anything fatty or greasy (or fried) was a trigger.
Onset was sudden....I had no problems prior to being sick in August on vacation (yes, my first attack I was in FL on VACATION). I got back and a week later I had the major attack after chinese food & ben & Jerry's. NOT FUN.
DO NOT WAIT.

FM but I wanted to say that you shouldn't wait until your PP visit. If you pass a stone it can get stuck in your bile duct or work it's way into your pancreas which can be a big complication. Nowadays, the gallbladder can be removed laproscopically and most times you are released the same day.

I agree! This happened to me and I didn't know anything was wrong until I was rushed by ambulance to the hospital! See a doc asap!

Re: PP complication - gallstones!
the pain is really minor - they wouldn't do more than a sono right now and I really don't feel like going through this right now. If it gets worse, i'll call right away.

Re: PP complication - gallstones!
I had my gallbladder removed 4 months after my ds was born. It first started with mild pain in the middle of my chest, but it would go away after a while and it only happened at night. Within a few weeks it was an excrutiating pain and my doctor thought it was just acid reflux since I had it all during my pregnancy. After an endoscopy and and ultrasound it was my gallbladder. It was removed laproscopically (sp?) and I was home the same day and sore for about a week. If you are not going to have it looked at right away stay away from fried foods, any kind that will trigger an attack. Feel better
