Miabelle is a little girl that I have never met, but her story has touched my heart.
She is 1 and she needs a bone marrow transplant to combat the disease she has called HLH.
She has been living with chemo, spinal taps, anti fungal medication, feeding tubes, and more for the last 3 months while they searched for a match for her.
They just found an 83% match through umbilical cord blood and she will be starting her journey to have a bone marrow transplant.
In the coming weeks, they will take this little 1 year old girl and use chemo to completely destroy the bone marrow in her little body to prepare her for the bone marrow transplant in the hopes that she will accept the new cells. This will leave her with no immune system until her body starts to grow it's own new cells.
Please send some prayers to her. I can't even imagine. Here is the blog her parents update regularly and if you are interested in joining the bone marrow registry, they have information on the page.
