Pre-Authorization?
Does anyone know approximately how long it takes to get pre-authorization of your IF benefits? Once they have an ID # and group #, how long it takes before the office knows if a person is covered for an upcoming cycle I mean (not sure I phrased that properly). TIA!
DH started his new job today and even though he's allowed to sign up for his benefits effective on first day of employment, he's not in the system yet. The don't think he's going to be in the system until 'at least' Wednesday- and AF is due to arrive on or around Fri (provera ends tomorrow night). Not sure what to do... I guess I'll be calling my dr's office in the morning but was hoping for some peace of mind for tonight. TIA!

Re: Pre-Authorization?
I think until the paperwork is submitted to the insurance company by the HR person at DH's company, he wont' be in. They will predate it and he'll be covered from today.
Maybe the HR person can give you details as to what's covered? Or maybe DH can tell HR that you need to go to the Dr., don't have to give details, but it will have to be this week, when do they think the insurance company will be on board?

Re: Pre-Authorization?
Thanks guys. I'm going to see if I can talk to the head of billing tomorrow morning. Hopefully she can give me some guidance. I would hate to have been on provera for 10 days to get AF and the do nothing. I'm still this is going to work out---- I've sat out for long enough- I want to get back in the game again. They have some $$$ of mine which would def. be enough for my first sono and bloodwork at out of pocket costs- and on an FET it says you don't have to go back again for over a week so by that point I should def. be in the system. Then I'd imagine I'd get my initial $$$ back from my insurance co., right? At some point- since technically we're covered from today. I swear nothing's ever easy!
